Older Americans Month is in May and on May 17, 2019
The WV Bureau of Senior Services is sponsoring the First Annual Aging Well Celebration at the Charleston Town Center, along with co-sponsors- WCHS-Fox11 Eyewitness News and CAMC.  The event will run from 10am-3pm.  The event theme is Connect-with friends, family and services that support participation, Create- through activities that promote health and personal enrichment, Contribute-with time, talent and life experience to benefit others.  There will be prizes, exhibitors, food demonstrations, workshops, Zumba, games, music and more.  KVSS will sponsor a booth and if you mention you read about this event in our newsletter and you will be given a special gift.  We hope to see you there! Robert W Jackson Senior Conference - May 21st to 23rd, 2019
May is older Americans month and KVSS cordially invites you to join us at this year's Robert W. Jackson Senior Conference. The late Robert W. Jackson was one of West Virginia's most recognized senior advocates; he worked tirelessly both in state government and in the private sector to ensure improvements in policy, planning, and services to seniors. In his honor, the Bureau of Senior Services sponsors the Robert W. Jackson Senior Conference to provide workshops and activities for seniors from around the state. Senior Picnic- Kanawha County - May 29th  10am to 2pm
May 29th is our annual Senior Picnic- free to seniors over the age of 60 and living in Kanawha County- live music, vendors, Bingo, games, cake walk, photo booth, and lunch with friends, local dignitaries.  The picnic runs from 10am-2pm.  We will not be serving meals at our other congregate location as all staff will gather at Tiskelwah!  Come join in the fun!

Each of these Mondays from 6pm-8pm, enjoy a fabulous dish prepared by the highlighted chef at our Tiskelwah campus at 600 Florida Street.  Each individual dinner is $30 or if you purchase all four dinners, you can at a discounted rate of $100!  Wine and beer will be available at an additional cost. Riverboat Dinner Cruise - Thursday, June 27th It’s back upon “POPULAR DEMAND”- our River Boat Cruise on the Laura J!  Thursday, June 27th from 6pm-8pm.  We will meet at the Haddad Riverfront park for pick up at 5:30pm.  Tickets are $40 per person and includes the boat ride and a lovely dinner and legal beverages at an additional fee.  We can accommodate 40 reservations- call soon as they are going fast!
