In-home and/or Respite C.N.A.s & CaregiversKVSS Community Health Program (CHP) is currently accepting
applications for in-home caregivers throughout Kanawha County. CHP helps keep
seniors and disabled individuals in the place they are most comfortable- their
home. Caregivers are trained in CPR, First Aid, and care-giving skills to assist
with bathing, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, and
necessary errands. Direct Personal Care services are through:
- Veterans Administration Caregiving Program
- Medicaid Personal Care Program
- Medicaid Aged and Disabled Waiver Program
- Lighthouse Program
KVSS Family Caregiver Program is currently accepting
applications for in-home Respite caregivers throughout Kanawha County that give
relief to the patients' full-time caregivers, whether family member or friends.
KVSS trained Respite staff can come into the loved one's home and let the
caregiver run errands, go to work, or simply get rest. A "Plan of Care" is
developed according to the personality and interests so that the time is
stimulating and rewarding. Respite services are available for those who need
only minimal physical assistance. Days and hours are determined on an individual
basis depending on the need and availability of hours of the program and staff.
There are 2 respite programs available: One for those with Alzheimer's or any
other physician diagnosed dementia and one for those who do not have a
diagnosis.
