Traditionally
West Virginia’s frail and chronically disabled have been confined to nursing
homes or other institutional care facilities. Now there are in-home alternative
approaches to care. The Community Care Program and Medicaid Waiver Program are
in-home care programs that provide personal assistance to eligible adults. These
services are medically oriented activities or tasks to be implemented according
to a Nursing Plan of Care that is developed and supervised by a registered
nurse. These services enable people to meet their physical needs. As a
Homemaker Agency, KVSS provides eligible clients with trained homemakers or
caregivers that perform health care services, assistance with personal hygiene,
nutritional support and environmental support.
